IDEA 1: Magazine front cover
This was my first idea for my magazine front cover, looking back it seems childish, disorganised, and cluttered. The colours do not compliment each other and the image does not tell the correct story as there is no chemistry between the characters. I like the idea behind the photograph of both the student and teacher being so close, but Sam on this cover does not look like a teacher due to his clothing. The phrasing of ‘Confrontation on Shearwater’ is not right as it takes up too much room and covers most of Becca’s face. I also learnt that both their eyes are not in the top third. I like the image of Lyndsey with her hood up however, and I hope to use this in my final product as it is a nice close up and it could be anchored with many soap style tag lines!
IDEA 1: Billboard
I realise now that this first attempt at a Billboard was all wrong because it was evidently created on Word and did not look professional due to the word art chosen. The picture was confusing as no characters were involved, and although the concept was a great idea it needed to be executed better. I found this out from the feedback given back to me and was able to change the picture around and create more of a synergy for my genre.

PRELIMINARY TASK
We uploaded this video on to Youtube to get a feeling for what it was like to upload a video and recieve feedback. The video was only 23seconds but it enabled us to have first hand experience working with the camera, characters and dialogue.
PRELIMINARY TASK
For my preliminary task I worked with my group to create a similar scene to one you would see in Eastenders/Coronation street. I and another member of my group filmed and directed the other characters whilst they acted. Doing this preliminary task helped me to know about different positionings of the camera and how they create meaning for the viewer, for example a low angle shows the character is superior, whilst an extreme close up illistrates that what is being shown is important.
